Start with the individual PNGs for the simplest import. Use SVG when you want to edit shape or color before exporting.
- Extract the ZIP. Keep README.txt and manifest.json beside the art.
- Choose a pair, such as canteen-full.png and canteen-empty.png. Each canvas is 256 × 256 with transparent outer margins.
- Display both at the same size over light and dark backgrounds. Try this in the inventory preview.
- Change the displayed file when your own game state changes. The ZIP supplies artwork, not inventory logic.
- For the atlas, read x, y, width and height from the manifest instead of assuming an engine-specific tile size.
Edit the vector
Open an SVG in a vector or text editor, change a palette value, then export a transparent PNG at your chosen resolution. Check outlines at the actual in-game display size. These are smooth vectors, not pixel art.
